Why this one is different

Every other play writes to somebody who already accepted a request from you. This one writes to a stranger, and that is the behaviour LinkedIn watches hardest.

Accounts are restricted for asking too often, and also for being declined too often. A request that is ignored counts against you, so inviting a long list of people who have no idea who you are is the fastest way to lose the account.

The limits

• At most 80 invitations in any seven days, however high your daily limit is set.
• Invitations you send by hand on LinkedIn count towards the same number, so the limit here is deliberately below where trouble starts.
• Every request still goes to the approval queue first. Nothing is sent without you reading it.
• The note is capped short and is written to say why them specifically. A reason that would fit anybody is worse than no note at all.

Getting them accepted

Invite people who have a reason to recognise you: somebody at a company you already know people at, somebody whose post you commented on, somebody a mutual connection could vouch for. Acceptance rate is the number that keeps the account healthy.

If you are importing a cold list of strangers, this is not the tool for it, and turning this play on with such a list is the one thing most likely to cost you the account.
