Importing people
Everybody in your workspace arrives from your LinkedIn connections unless you add them, so the ceiling is the network you already have. Importing a file is the way in for everyone else: a CRM export, an attendee list, or the spreadsheet you keep.
Nothing is written until you have seen it
Reading a file shows how many are new, how many are already here, and every unusable row by line number with the reason. The first twenty are shown with their real values so you can check the columns landed where you expected.
People already here are updated only where something was missing. An import never overwrites what is already known.
What an imported person can receive
- An email address works as soon as you have connected a mailbox.
- A LinkedIn profile address is not, by itself, a way to send a message. Each profile is looked up once first, ten at a time, because each look-up counts against your daily profile view allowance.
- LinkedIn only lets you message people you are connected to, so anybody who is not already a connection needs a connection request before a play can reach them.

Why the look-up is a button rather than automatic
Because importing two thousand people would otherwise spend two thousand profile views, and there are roughly a hundred a day before an account is at risk. Ten at a time means you can watch it and stop.
