Turning sending on

A new workspace does not send. Drafts are written, reviewed and queued, and nothing leaves until you turn sending on yourself under sending settings. The switch only appears once you have approved at least one draft, because reading a message the product wrote in your name is the only thing that tells you what you are switching on.

Why it starts off

The first week is for reading. Every draft that appears is a message that would have gone out under your name, and the point of holding them is that you can see exactly what the product would have said before any of it reaches anybody.

Nothing is lost by leaving it off. Drafts are still written, still queued, and still there when you switch on.

The one condition

You have to have approved a draft. Not read a tour, not ticked a box saying you understand: approved one real message. Anybody who has done that knows what they are about to switch on, and anybody who has not is agreeing to something they have not seen.

You also need a confirmed email address and a connected account, which are the same conditions everything else that reaches a person has.

What happens when you turn it on

  • Anything you have already approved goes out inside your next sending window.
  • Approving becomes sending, so from that point a draft you approve will actually go.
  • You can still cancel any queued message right up to the moment it goes.
  • Every other rule stays exactly as it was: your hours, your daily caps, the warm-up ramp, and the checks made again at the moment of sending.

Turning it off

One click, no conditions, at any time. Queued messages are held rather than cancelled, so nothing you approved is thrown away, and switching back on releases them.
