Docs · Reviewing and sending
The approval queue
Everything written waits here, in one of four states: needs review, approved, sent, or cancelled. Approving moves a draft to the send queue, where it waits for its sending time, and you can still cancel it right up to the moment it goes.
The four states
- Needs review: written, and waiting for you. Nothing here has gone anywhere.
- Approved: you said yes, and it is waiting for its sending time. Still cancellable.
- Sent: it has actually gone.
- Cancelled: you rejected it, or the product withdrew it because somebody replied first.
Editing
Every draft is editable before you approve it, and an edited draft is marked as such. The guard runs again at send time, so an edit that reintroduces a blocked phrase is caught rather than sent.
Finding one
Search covers the person and the words of the draft, inside the state you are looking at. When nothing matches there, the page counts the matches in the other three states and links to them, so an empty result is never the whole answer.
